BiteGrease is a fishing scent enhancement applied directly to lures and bait to induce more frequent and aggressive strikes. BiteGrease works on both fresh and saltwater game fish because it's based on biological traits that all fish share.
BiteGrease was developed on jigs and plastics and works without affecting the appearance or action of your offering. If anything, Besides smelling irresistible to a gamefish, a thin coating of slippery BiteGrease may also give your offering the slippery "feel" of a baitfish with its natural slime covering, versus the same presentation with an uncoated plastic or metal bait.
You can use BiteGrease on Sabiki-type bait rigs instead of hassling with squid strips.
BiteGrease is also deadly on floating trout baits or trout flies.
Baits and lures can easily acquire odors that inhibit a fish's instinct to strike. Odors are one reason why game fish will follow, but never strike, a trolled lure. In the same way, scent contamination, even on natural baits, can make bait pickups more infrequent, timid and hesitant.
Scent contamination of lures and baits occurs as a result of handling or storage that allows contact with dozens of possible contaminants; gas, oil, sunscreens, dirt, soaps, detergent residues, human skin oils and more. BiteGrease replaces these fish-repelling odors with the tantalizing and familiar scents of natural bait fish tissue oils from 4 key forage species: anchovy, sardine, mackerel and menhaden
Smell is important to fish survival. Fish have an incredibly acute sense of smell, in some cases thousands of times more sensitive than a dogs and far more sensitive than humans. You can read more about that here.
The important thing to know is that scent matters and all other things being equal, you'll get more strikes and more aggressive strikes when you use BiteGrease to enhance the scent-appeal of your presentation.
